Redlands develops the whole student—not just intellectually, but emotionally and spiritually as well. Students are encouraged to think beyond just themselves.
Senior year, I co-hosted a KDAWG Radio show and interviewed TV host Mario Lopez and journalist and presidential speechwriter James Fallows. Getting to interview such notable people as a college student opened some amazing doors.
The University of Redlands was an amazing platform that first and foremost gave me the knowledge that I needed to go out there in any field. Besides knowledge alone, having rubbed shoulders with the best of the best in this industry has led to incredible exposure to various resources.
I got so many experiences that I never would have been part of if I had gone to a larger school... I received four years of professional playing experience before I graduated, and I never would have had that elsewhere.
I learned how to think and develop different perspectives. Johnston taught me that there isn’t always a single right answer; there can be multiple answers. You have to have the ability to articulate and communicate in this position, and having that knowledge has served me really well.
